Deccan Web Studio
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 October 2026
This policy covers the UPSC Clipper Chrome extension and this website, both run by Deccan Web Studio.
It also covers AutoFlow, our Chrome extension for Google Flow — see the AutoFlow section below.
Your highlights, notes and tags never leave your device. The only thing UPSC Clipper sends anywhere is your licence key (and an activation name) to Dodo Payments, to check that it is valid. No account, no analytics, no tracking.
What the extension stores on your computer
Only on your own computer, inside Chrome's extension storage (chrome.storage.local):
- The text you highlight, your notes, tags, colours and syllabus topics.
- The page title, web address (URL) and publication date of the article you clipped.
- Your revision history (when you marked a clip "Remembered" or "Forgot").
- Your settings (colours, website list, revision schedule, reminder time).
- If you bought Pro: your licence key, its activation ID, your plan and when it was last checked.
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. It is not sold, shared or used for advertising.
The only data sent anywhere: your licence check
If you buy Pro and enter your licence key, the extension contacts Dodo Payments (dodopayments.com) to:
- activate the key on this computer — it sends the licence key and the activation name "UPSC Clipper on Chrome";
- check the key about once a day — it sends the licence key and its activation ID;
- remove the key from this computer when you ask — it sends the licence key and its activation ID.
Nothing else is sent: no clips, notes, tags, browsing history or page content. If you use the Free plan, the extension sends nothing at all.
Payments
Purchases are handled by Dodo Payments, our payment provider and merchant of record. You enter your payment details on Dodo's checkout page, not in the extension or on this website. We never see your card or UPI details. Dodo Payments processes your name, email address and payment information under its own privacy policy, and sends us the order details (such as your email and the plan you bought) so we can provide the licence and support.
When the extension reads web pages
- On the websites in your list (and on all websites only if you turn on "Enable on all websites"), the extension looks at a page only to show the toolbar when you select text, and to re-colour highlights you saved on that page.
- It does not read, collect or send your browsing history, passwords, forms or any other page content.
Permissions and why they are needed
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
storage, unlimitedStorage | Save your clips and settings on your computer. |
contextMenus | The right-click item "Clip to UPSC Clipper". |
activeTab, scripting | Start the highlighter on the page you are on when you ask for it. |
alarms, notifications | The optional daily revision reminder, the "due today" badge and the daily licence check. |
| Site access (news sites list) | Show the toolbar and your saved highlights on those sites. |
live.dodopayments.com | Check your Pro licence key. No browsing data is sent. |
| Optional: all websites | Only if you switch on "Enable on all websites" in Settings. |
This website
This website has no cookies, no analytics and no tracking scripts. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and pages visited) for security.
The website loads its font (Plus Jakarta Sans) from Google Fonts; to deliver the font file, Google receives your browser's IP address. Google Fonts does not set cookies.
Exports and backups
Files you export (PDF, Markdown, CSV, backup) are saved to your own computer's Downloads folder.
Deleting your data
- Settings → Delete all data (type DELETE to confirm) removes your clips and settings. Your Pro licence stays, so you don't lose what you paid for; remove it with Remove licence from this computer.
- Removing the extension from Chrome deletes all its data.
- To ask Dodo Payments or us to delete your purchase records, contact us.
AutoFlow
AutoFlow — privacy
AutoFlow stores nothing on any server — we don't have one. Your prompts, settings and files stay on your computer. The only thing AutoFlow sends to us or our payment provider is your Pro licence key (with a random device label), to check that it is valid. No account, no analytics, no tracking.
What AutoFlow stores on your computer
Only on your own computer, inside Chrome's extension storage (chrome.storage.local):
- Your prompt queue: each prompt's text and number, its status, the saved file names, a link to the result's thumbnail and an image fingerprint (used to avoid saving the same picture twice).
- Your settings (model, ratio, speed, folder name, file naming) and the run log (the last 250 lines).
- The Free plan's daily counter (how many prompts were made today).
- If you bought Pro: your licence key, its activation ID, a random device label and when it was last checked.
- If you choose "Save to a folder I choose": Chrome's permission to write into that folder.
The pictures and videos themselves are saved as normal files in your Downloads folder or the folder you chose. None of this is sent to us or to anyone else.
The only data sent to us or our provider: your licence check
If you buy Pro and enter your licence key, AutoFlow contacts Dodo Payments (live.dodopayments.com) to:
- activate the key on this computer — it sends the licence key and a device label such as "AutoFlow on Chrome · k3x9a2";
- check the key about once a week — it sends the licence key and its activation ID;
- remove the key from this computer when you ask — it sends the licence key and its activation ID.
Nothing else is sent: no prompts, images, file names, browsing history or page content. If you use the Free plan, AutoFlow sends nothing to us or to Dodo Payments at all. Payments are handled as described in Payments above.
How AutoFlow uses Google Flow
- AutoFlow works inside the Google Flow tab you opened, with your own Google account: it types your prompts into Flow's prompt box and presses Flow's buttons — just like you would. Your prompts reach Google because you use Google Flow; Google's own privacy policy applies to Flow.
- It downloads each finished result from Google's content server (
flow-content.google) to save it on your computer. - It never calls Google's internal servers directly, never touches captchas, never reads your Google password and never uses Google sign-in.
- It does not read other tabs or websites.
AutoFlow permissions and why they are needed
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
debugger | Google Flow only accepts a real click on its Generate button. AutoFlow attaches Chrome's debugger to the Flow tab only while a run is active, to make that one click per prompt, and detaches it when the run pauses, stops or ends. It is not used to read pages or network traffic. |
sidePanel | Show AutoFlow next to the Flow tab. |
storage | Save your queue, settings, log and licence status on your computer. |
downloads, downloads.open | Save each result as a numbered file, and open it from the Gallery. |
scripting | Start AutoFlow in Flow tabs that were already open when it was installed or updated. |
Site access: flow.google.com, labs.google, flow-content.google | Type prompts, read the result gallery, and download the finished results. |
live.dodopayments.com (and test.dodopayments.com) | Check your Pro licence key. No browsing data is sent. |
Deleting AutoFlow data
- Queue → Clear all removes your prompts; Logs → Clear removes the log.
- Settings → Plan → Remove from this computer removes your licence from this computer (and frees the device slot).
- Removing AutoFlow from Chrome deletes all its data. Files you saved stay in your folders until you delete them.
- To ask Dodo Payments or us to delete your purchase records, contact us.
